The journey is short ❤ An elderly woman got on The journey is short ❤ An elderly woman got on a bus and sat down. At the next stop, a strong, grumpy young woman climbed up and sat down sharply beside the old woman, hitting her with her numerous bags. When she saw that the elderly woman remained silent, the young woman asked her why she had not complained when she hit her with her bags. The elderly woman replied with a smile: ′ ′ There is no need to be rude or discuss something so insignificant, as my trip next to you is so short because I am going to get off at the next stop. " This answer deserves to be written in gold letters: ′ ′ There is no need to discuss something so insignificant, because our journey together is too short. " Each of us must understand that our time in this world is so short, that darkening with struggles, useless arguments, jealousy, not forgiving others, discontent and an attitude of constant discovery is a ridiculous waste of time and energy. Did someone break your heart ?. Stay calm. The trip is too short. Did someone betray you, intimidate, cheat or humiliate you? Relax. Excuse. The trip is too short. Did someone insult you without reason ?. Stay calm. Ignore it. The trip is too short. Did a neighbor comment on the chat that you didn't like ?. Stay calm. Ignore him. Forgive that. The trip is too short. Whatever the problem someone has brought us, remember that our journey together is too short. No one knows the length of that trip. Nobody knows when it will arrive at its stop. Our trip together is too short. We will appreciate friends and family. Let us be respectful, kind and forgive, we will be filled with gratitude and joy, after all our trip together is very short. Share your smile...our trip is VERY short.
Ahh Fall is in the Air! Do you feel it in your bo Ahh Fall is in the Air! Do you feel it in your body, and your heart? Seasons are so much more than the weather changing, especially living in Texas. They bring back memories of sweet days gone by. This morning reminded me of my kids first day back in school, getting up early, making breakfast, preparing lunches, making sure everyone was ready to have a wonderful day. There was so much activity in the mornings to get home to make dinner, sitting together sharing our stories of the day, finishing up homework, and off to bed. It meant the end of our summer adventures at the lake, camping, sleep-overs and sleeping-in. I miss those days and would do it all again in a heartbeat. Join us at KCEF's 22nd Annual Charity Gala on Saturday, October 17th for Dinner, Silent Auction, Live Music, Premium Cocktail Bar, Cigar Bar. This year’s Gala’s theme is God Bless Texas!! And it Is shaping up to be a Texas-sized event! Dust off your cowboy boots & cocktail western attire, but if that’s not your style, cocktail dress & coat & tie are great too. The festive event will take place at Bayou City Event Center’s Grand Ballroom, at 21,600 ft2. Tables of 10 or 12 will be spaced 12 feet apart giving sufficient social-distancing and they will be following all CDC, local & state guidelines in place. KCEF is a 501(c)(3) foundation that was founded by Cookie Michael to honor her daughter’s Kym’s memory, who was a staunch believer in the power of education & a college degree. Funds raised by this wonderful foundation support the following incentive programs: - the Honor Roll Bicycle Program - Most Improved Student Contest Art Contests & Book Drives in low-income elementary schools (2019 Recipients of bicycle program & contests listed above were students at HISD’s Blackshear & Ketelsen Elementary) - 30K of Underwriting yearly towards scholarships for hard-working, young adults via the Houston Livestock Show & Rodeo Scholarship Fund. Co-chairing this year's Gala is Raj & Sonia Settipalli, who are honored to be working alongside its founder to raise funds to support the education programs KCEF has backed for more than 22 years. I have been fighting Covid 😷 and although it took longer to recover than I expected, I really learned a lot along the way. 👍 Today’s post is all about my experience before, during and after. Although it appears almost everyone goes through this differently, my hope is that some of the tricks and tips that worked for me may work for you if you get diagnosed. 🤞
