Susan Wise and Shelby Autrey started the company because of their combined love of yoga, playing polo and travel. Both women are certified yoga instructors and Susan Wise has not only played and coached polo players but she is also a certified snow ski instructor. The two plan about three to four trips a year that last five days. This year the planned trips include visits to Careyes, Mexico and with polo legend Memo Gracida at his polo ranch in Santa Ynez, California wine country.

Typical days begin with an 8:00 AM breakfast, followed by yoga, some polo field practice, lunch and then four chukkers of polo. The best part? After the chukkers, it’s time for happy hour with the ponies followed by dinner. All meals, accommodations, horse rentals and equipment are included in the price, which ranges from $3,750 to $6,000 depending on how big your accommodations are and extra local excursions.

What we love about this trip idea is that everything is taken care of and it can appeal to your most active friend and your laziest. Everyone has something to do and can get together in the evenings to soak up all the zen whether they played all day or just relaxed.

Susan says she emphasizes to her clients that it is YOUR vacation, you can do whatever you want, whenever you want.  But, they plan such a fun schedule clients usually want to hang with the group.
Clients stay in a private villa with an infinity pool and in-house chef. Organizers have several parties planned during the trip, a horseback beach ride to dinner, massages and much more.

Polo and Yoga Adventures also tries to give back with any endeavor they embark on. In Careyes, Mexico they developed a foundation that assists all of the surrounding 12 villages with education and healthcare, sports and the arts. The Foundation’s children’s choir sing at the welcome party and volunteer opportunities are available if any of their guests have interest.
Currently there are trips planned for Costa Careyes, Mexico January 28- February 2. Provence, France in June (soon to be updated on the website) and a trip with the polo legend Memo Gracida at his polo estate in Santa Ynez California from August 11-16.  They plan to continue adding  amazing destinations.
