In case you haven’t noticed, the LGG girls like to eat good stuff.  We like creative, tasty food and The Truffle Masters event did not disappoint. The Truffle Masters is an annual event celebrating the truffle, one of the world’s oldest delicacies.

What are truffles? Truffles are the fruiting body of a fungus.  They usually grow around the roots of trees and are historically found by truffle hunting female pigs or dogs.  They are rare and seasonal which explains the high price tag.

At the event, twenty-five of Houston’s top chefs came together to create delicious bites incorporating black truffles supplied by DR Delicacy, a luxury food importer and distributor.  This year’s event took place at The Revaire on January 29th and benefitted Second Servings of Houston, Houston’s only prepared and perishable food rescue organization.
