The International Gem & Jewelry Show rolls into Houston quarterly, in January, April, June, and October. It’s held at NRG Center, Friday through Sunday. Admission is $6 per ticket online or $8 per ticket at the door, and parking is $12. The next show is this weekend, October 18-20, 2019.
International Gem & Jewelry Show claims to be America’s longest-running direct-to-consumer jewelry trade show, catering to the needs of jewelry and gemstones enthusiasts. Rows and rows of vendors offer diamonds, gemstones, chains, beads, supplies, fine jewelry, estate & antique jewelry, opals, minerals, crystals, and much more. The competitive atmosphere tends to drive prices to rock-bottom levels giving shoppers a great value.
The show includes a “Trade Only” section for wholesale jewelry buyers with the proper credentials. To register for wholesale, bring the following documents to the show:
A copy of your state business license or permit; AND
- A business card with the store and buyer’s name imprinted; or
- A copy of a wholesale house permanent pass bearing the store and buyer’s name; or
- Company letterhead; or
- Purchase order or invoice signed by the buyer (or copy of this); or
- Payroll check stub, voucher, or list bearing the store and buyer’s name
- Or a friend with these credentials!
On recent visits, I’ve picked up gifts for girlfriends, like shell and gold earrings from a boutique out of California, a decorative geode from Brazil mounted on a stand, rings, necklaces, and bracelets.
Whether making jewelry is your passion, gifting yourself the latest trending necklace, or buying a gift for someone special in your life, this is your one stop shop.
Grab a map and mark booths you want to revisit.
It’s ok to ask for the “best price” the vendor can offer.
Food and drinks can be purchased.
